What To Expect

When you arrive to your intake just know, I've got you whatever it may be. The intake is the first step that you are taking to heal YOU and that is HUGE!!! I hope you are PROUD of you YOU! After that day we will begin to work on whatever you would like to work on. I use different modalities, theories, because I believe you are an individual, individual couple, family,  and there isn't just one thing that will fit for everyone or every couple or family. 

First Responders

Let me just say, I see you! You care for so many others, I'm wondering if you have forgotten to care for you just a little bit and now are finding it hard to care for yourself. First Responders, you often have learned how to compartmentalize your job, what you see, what you deal with when you are on the job, but often find it difficult to have "down/quiet time" or when your head is "quiet", it may be hard to relate with your family members, or find that your moods or like a seesaw, going up and down. Makes sense, you deal with a lot and at times it may be hard to express and or communicate this with your spouse, your family. Just know, it is okay to talk it out. 

Couples Counseling

Relationships are fun, exciting, tough, real and can be hard. I get that and sometimes we may ask ourselves, our partners: What are we doing? Where did we go wrong? What happened? I am lonely, feel alone? Miss you and don't know who to reconnect physically and emotionally? Maybe we should make sure communication is strong before we take our next step? How do we communicate? Repair the hurt?

All things can be improved, repaired, and strengthen with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, and get what you want out of your relationship. I have trained in Emotional Focused Therapy for Couples and continue my trainings within this modality. 

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches.

EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy method that uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain. Therapists often use eye movements to facilitate bilateral stimulation.

Individual Therapy

Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life? Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through, or a non-judgmental ear just to listen? Do you think you could benefit the most from individualized attention? Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you’ve been seeking. Individual therapy differs from Group or Alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.

Addiction Counseling for Individuals & Family

Addiction happens, but we should not feel shame or guilt. If you are reading this, this is the first step and a hard step. Addiction stems from so many places. No one grew up saying they wanted a difficult life, but find themselves in a spiral and aren't sure what to do about it. Individual counseling is one support that can help navigate this world. Counseling in a couple and/or family setting can help the individual and family members can learn how to navigate the new world, identifying healthy boundaries, decrease codependency and enabling behaviors, develop support for one another.
